After testing: What now?

Genetic testing can bring a diagnosis or a clearer explanation for health, development or learning concerns. It can also leave important questions unresolved.

Results may follow months or years of seeking answers, or arrive with little time to prepare. They can bring relief, difficult news or more uncertainty. Whatever the result, it can take time to understand what it means for everyday life, what needs attention now and what can be revisited later.

A diagnosis may help explain some of what has been happening and guide care. It does not tell the whole story of a person or their life.
